If it rained tonight, I wouldn't know
Because my eyes are closed
And I can't feel anything
I've already hurt too much to
Feel any more pain or the rain
As it falls, it's nothing at all
Not even a small sense of wetness
I've witnessed and I get this
Is one of those times where
If it rained tonight, I wouldn't know
Because my eyes are closed
And I can't feel anything
So let it rain and come down pouring
I'll look like I'm ignoring
But that's not the story
Because I can't feel
And my eyes are sealed
If this field floods,
I'll either float or sink
And I don't think
I'll notice or care because
If it rained tonight, I wouldn't know
Because my eyes are closed
And I can't feel anything
The only thing I can remember having felt
Is gone and never coming back
Now what I lack
Is the will to attack
The fight to go on
So let the rain come on 'til dawn
And I might never know about it
And I could go on without it
Ever crossing my mind
If that's still how you'd define
The rind you'd find
Looking behind these lines
But on the surface I'm fine even though
If it rained tonight, I wouldn't know
Because my eyes are closed
And I can't feel anything |
