Armistice Day

Armistice Day

A shot rang out two minutes to

If only they had heard and knew

The line went silent on the hour

And with the peace enabled power;

Extended they their final push

Through blood and mud detritus slush;

This was not right it was not due

The moment lived for peace in lieu

Of war and battle hate and pain

Where blood was spilt like fallen rain;

This man did not deserve to die

But for the loss no reasons why;

The tragedy of war is shown

The pain is all the shame our own...

Poignant.  Brilliant.  Sad.  Ironic.  An elegy.  --David

I personally don't think anybody can comprehend war if you didn't live through it in one way or another. It is easy to declare it, a whole other story to live through it and experienced it.
Very real read
