The Knights and Balthazar

The Knights And Balthazar

Foul bastard son of Mordred born

And heaped upon his shoulders scorn

A sickly youth a ne'er-do-well

His life a one-way trip to Hell;

Engaged was he in arcane arts

From early years in fits and starts;

But in his teens did hone his skill

And learned he to impose his will;

A band of brigands did he form

Who interbred and grew to swarm;

Unholy souls who lived for war

And followed not the common law;

Took he the name of Balthazar

A mystic mage who sought a star;

But he was not a man of peace

Through evil acts he found release;

Decided he to strike for gold

The Kingdom his if he were bold;

Against the Knights he sought to fight

Pure evil versus Royal light;

A plan he hatched to kidnap Bess

Immerse the King in harsh duress;

But fail did he with his disguise--

The knights alert were far too wise;

It came down to a bitter fight

The bastard and the Lords of Light;

The chosen sward on Magic Hill

The time was dawn the air was still;

Atop the hill all stood the Knights

From down below came Balthazar;

Employed he dragons in his fights

They could attack from near or far;

The flames from mouths did burn and scorch

Some Knights became a human torch;

But had they Linda great a mage

Thrust into battle centre stage;

She raised her arms and cast a spell

The Knights surrounded by a shell;

No flames could touch them in this state

And so did they retaliate;

Again a spell with lightning bolt

It forced the dragons there to halt;

Then down the hill they rushed as one

Then hand to hand the fight was on;

Sir Len and Kym did lead the rest

It proved a bitter gruelling test;

With sword on sword and daggers drawn

These Knights of light pushed back the spawn;

Did Balthazar raise strong defence

The fighting raw and so intense;

Drove on the Knights to seize the day

The brigands fell to knees to pray;

 Of Balthazar there was no sign

He had fled at his own design;

Where is not known but guarantee

The like of him again we'll see.

So glad that the knights are back.  Thank the Lord that Queen Bess was unharmed!  Long live King Al!  (Great to have you back, sire!)  --David
