Be Careful What You Wish For

Be Careful What You Wish For

'Be careful what you wish for dear.'

She knelt at home without a fear

The warning rung on deafened ears

She pushed by grief engulfed in tears;

Her husband dead but now a chance

To once again feel their romance;

Continued she to utter verse

In whispered tones did not rehearse;

The words so old from Arcane Law

Rang round the room and out the door;

An invitation to the dead

To rest no more to walk instead;

She wanted prayed to see again
Her man who now in earth was lain;

She waited and thence heard the cry

'Twas one of pain she knew not why;

She would indeed see him again

All bloodied and wracked through with pain;

The corpse was gruesome maggots writhed

From every hole the witch had lied!

But no the truth was she had strayed

And not took care when she had prayed

Had asked to see her love once more

The man that she did so adore;

But since that last time he was dead

Again she saw him thus with dread;

A living corpse disgusting this

That sought her for a parting kiss;

So thus if using magic here

Be careful what you wish for dear...

You're great at the 'metaphysical poem.'  Another winner.  Astounding -- always!  --David
