My hands are clenched as comes the need

The coloured bottles cast their seed;

Create they itch within my mind

To scratch it drink I have to find;

I cannot think of other things

With glass in hand my spirit sings

The shaking stops the cravings too

Descent to Hell will soon ensue;

For twenty minutes of my life

Would beat the urge prevent the strife

The cravings pass and I'd feel fine

Not want to drain this glass of wine;

But no I think 'I'll have just one'

The wine slips down the urge has won.

Author's Notes:
I still manage to beat the urge ... thank God...

Either you beat the urge, or I'll beat you.  I'll cross the Atlantic: and let you have it.  Fine to express your cravings -- I have them too -- (had a dream the other night that I got drunk) -- but neither of us dare get near them bottles.  The poem says it all.  Who's a good boy then?
