Sir David Consoles The King

Sir David Consoles The King

'My Lord 'tis time for you to sleep

Let others now stay here and weep;

Your love here lies unmoving so

The die is cast the final throw;

What man or beast walks now these halls?

That hides it seems within the walls;

Unfound abroad a danger here

A fierce opponent most austere;

This creature that has harmed your wife

Does threaten now your own dear life;

We know the magic is of skill

An arcane mage of powerful will;

Call now I Linda here to stay

This should with luck your fears allay;

The Knights stand ready so to ride

No matter where your thoughts decide;

Will find we now this demon kind

As God my witness strike me blind

Should I profess to promise things

Out of the reach of brother Kings;

Send messengers to those will I

To question if or how or why

 Assassins come to kill your Bess

And cause you such a great distress;

My Lord my friend 'tis time to rest

You cannot think whilst now so stressed;

Our Friar Gene will come as well

With Linda will they guard her well;

With prayers to God and Hecate too

Will stem the blight that turns her blue

So go with God to chamber now

And gain the peace our prayers allow.'
