So Whistle Wind

So Whistle Wind

So whistle wind I hear your call

The voices in your funeral pall;

Our lost and fallen share with us

Their shock and loss so onerous

For us alive yet set to die

Prepared to with our comrades lie;

Your whistle shriek like banshee wail

Does from our faces pallor pale;

Yet does your breath refresh us now

Does calm the sweats and thus allow

A second wind to fill our chest

Have faith with God in us invest;

O cry sweet wind bring now the tears

Arouse our pride erase our fears.

I like the way this starts out with a feeling of bravery yet down troddeness and

then moves to renewed hope and spirited heroics. Very nice work.
