The Harper

Angus Og plucks his harp

compelling all to itís will

automaton followers

and each stands still

Succinct notes of ancient degree

cast their magical net

unwary travelers ensnared

a tune they shant forget

Softly the rhythm allures

washing away defenses

over stimulated emotion

leaving no lies or pretenses

Strings sound their final thrum

the melody comes to a close

hypnotic spell is broken

jettisoned listeners left morose

Author's Notes:
Angus Og is one of the Tuatha Dé Danann, the Irish gods. He is the god of youth love and beauty.

Very unusual and very original.  Alluring and god-like.  I so much enjoyed reading it!   --David
