A Toast to Rhymes

Oh the words that can timely hemorrhage out from all

the poets pens.

Do we write to rinse away the tears falling nonstop for

 a monsoon cleanse?

Filling up paper cups quickly for there’s little time left

 to cease the rain.

The luxury is to bleed it out because everyday life for us

 is the same.

For the oceans will rise up to empty the cups brimming

around this world.

A salty treasure pours into the deep for an empty shell to

fashion its pearl.

To be weaved line upon line to become an expression for

your healing time.

Our gifts surrendered to love as we’re all flowing freely

 with another rhyme.

Author's Notes:
I love it when words have a gathering inside my heart and together they come up with another rhyme.
But for only you every day is I love you.

wow...so much meaning in this poem...so much vulnerability in these lines!  We pour out our hearts and innermost personality onto the page when we write poetry...Favorite line, well I actually had a favorite until I re-read each line and couldn't make a choice.  Each line is superb and builds the perfect foundation for your intricate feelings.  Incredible! This piece shows how people (poets) from around the world share the same love for beautiful poetry...specifically, rhyming verse.

I have written many poems, using free verse, but I believe that it takes a special something to be able to write in rhyme and make it work. So I consider it a challenge and a pleasure to write in rhyme. Fine work, Dan.

AS an old songwiter, I live for rhymes...I get a kick out of people who look down their noses at rhyming poetry,,,,They're looking down on some classic poets from the past...len
