Innocent Faith

Rise from slumber

to start their days

laughing, dancing

and singing praise

God is good

the children say

when at meals

fold hands and pray

Close eyes at night

lay down sweet head

ask angels to stay

and guard their bed

In the heart of a child

should we pay heed

the innocent faith

of a mustard seed

This lovely and sweet poem brings to mind precious memories of my mom and I saying

my bedtime prayers when I was a little girl. You know, the the one that begins:

'As I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep.'

It was a pleasure to read this delightful reminder.
