Another Death

Another Death

Another death upon this sand

The blood flows freely in the land

And through the streets where people scream

For them no peace no sleep no dream;

The smell of copper fills the air

It mingles with the crowd's despair

The wailing for the loss of kin

All lost to war this mortal sin;

A hundred thousand now they say

Have lost their lives in every way;

But still there leads no-one to peace

The people granted no release;

All countries look to Ban Ki-Moon

To answer prayers for peace and soon.

This is a poem of necessity.  It needs to be.  To be said and to be heard and to be truly felt.  What shame mankind has wrought.  Will there ever be an end?    ...a poignant statement, Alistair.    --David

A powerful poem that describes the horrors of war. One hundred thousand lives lost and no end in sight.

It is almost more than my mind can comprehend. Very moving poem.
