Where have you been? Where did you go?

Please tell us for we have to know

The absence was too long this time

No sign of prose or simple rhyme;

We feared you dead knew not your pain

Which racked your mind drove you insane;

Please tell us of the journey friend

See here we sit your voice attend;

"He lay as infant foetal curled

The curtains drawn against the world;

No-one to hear the frightened prayer

That told of his intense despair;

They found him thus those clothed in white

Who took him thence into the night;

He argued not had little choice

Was grateful for a friendly voice;

The darkness had encompassed him

His light of life grew ever dim;

Unmasked and naked like a child

The madness in him feral wild;

They gave him drugs and therapy

Commensurate necessity

His journey spanned a hundred days

Affected him in many ways;

But mostly he was born again

With freshly laundered nascent brain;

Re-learnt were values mores laws

Removed from him were Hellish flaws

Excised were demons of the night

Replaced with angels pure of light;

Although a trial it did allow

The man to stand before you now.

You come to us resurgent strong

But heed the things you did do wrong;

You hid away until the end

Afraid that you had not one friend;

But that was what the darkness taught

Despite your will the way you fought

You should have come to us instead

But know we well that in your head

The Devil drove you to the edge

Not in control stood on the ledge

You gazed down at the fires of Hell

And from the flames rose up the smell

Of carnage Death dark misery

Feel now our warmth and empathy;

Remember well our friendly scribe

You have in us a faithful tribe.

The journey called 'life', so much can happen along the way - well said. LTK
