It was not you.
For it was not you but I, that stood upon the pieces of my broken heart, and shouted sorrows to the sky. For it was not you but me, that broke the skin and kept on going, until it bled freely. And sheltered in the broken fragments of my soul, I tore and ravaged and destroyed the remnants of the whole. You may have been the breaker, scattering pieces, left to rust. But it was me that did the damage; That crushed the pieces into dust.
Author's Notes:
Sometimes we destroy ourselves far more and long after someone else has caused us pain and it's ourselves that ends up doing more damage.

Very powerful piece, Cherie. When we don't let go of past hurt and harbor resentment, we can destroy ourselves. hatred is like drinking poison and waiting for your enemy to die....GOOD work, kid....len
