An aching mind on canvas writes,

Of loveless days and silent nights,

The loneliness of maintenance,

A chance to learn, once more romance

With you yourself, a selfish thing?

Well yes perhaps, but still you sing;

Pour out your emptiness in verse,

And of the past mistakes you curse,

But must you draw that line in sand,

A starting point at which to stand;

Rue not too much the past unchanged,

'Tis just the path to be estranged,

Think now, move on, the future waits,

Thank God, use all of His Estates,

Take of His power, if you believe,

And for your errant past just grieve;

The future is your terminus,

Make not the task so ponderous.
