Denise Six Years On.
Denise is still around and she's made it to six years
The early days are memories, stained with a million tears
I didn't know then what I know for sure right now
Her fight was hard and long, but she made it through somehow
Life is filling her up again with whom she used to be
Like a Flower finding Sunshine, like the Spring leaves upon a tree
Each day is a miracle, each day I pray for more
The song is beautiful still but I don't know the score
Denise is now a Grandma that she didn't know she'd be
Archie and Theo now join the family tree
Her life is gaining strength as the illness starts to fade
The darkness is a price that she's already paid
Six years of suffering and still she made it to today
Every step was like on broken glass but it had to be that way
The journey is getting better as the days go by
She says you don't achieve if you don't try.

Author's Notes:
This is about Denise, I've been here since 2003 but Six years ago Denise fell ill with Leukemia. Her battle has been long and hard but she's still here. The normal things of life are coming around once again for us, we can begin to share this new part of life we thought was going to be taken away.  If you read this and know someone who is unwell, be strong for them, it's the only thing you can do.
