Be Kind

"be kind!" he says
to yourself and to others
remove the knife from your hand
that you self-inflicted
on wounds that have been healed alas bruised
yet you reopen them
to make you feel
the thrilling pain that shot up from your loins to your heart
to make you hear
the cussing and the screaming
the growling of a madmen
leaving you shaken with fear
to make you taste
the putrid ink of red
forced down your throat

"be kind!" he says
because in every nightmare
you'll be awoken
to a morrow
with light shining on your face
soul locked in an embrace

"be kind!" he says.
