Our Big Brother

Our big brother wisnae very big
He spent his life looking up at those looking down
He saw them, but what did they see?

Some saw a wheelchair "how does it work?" "where will it fit?"
Others saw a problem "This guy cannae walk, what else can he no do?"

Those who cared to look further
And those of us who loved him
Saw a man of great stature, handsome & strong.  An intelligent and creative mind, full of beautiful words.

A man who wasn't disabled, he was just sat down.
He travelled, worked, married and loved.
He loved unconditionally, never judged and never expected anything in return.

So, our big brother was actually huge!
A huge personality, with a huge love of laughs.
Huge hands for cuddles and a huge heart to love

Author's Notes:
My brother Peter was a member here known as Cleanman.  I would like to inform all who knew him on this site that he sadly passed away on 3rd March this year after a few years of ill health.  I miss him dearly.  I wrote the above to help my sadness and we used it in his eulogy.  Please remember him in your prayers if you are so inclined and read his poems again.  This was his passion in life.  Many thanks

Dear Catriona,

I remember your brother, who would chip in a comment every now and then regarding my drivel.

ALWAYS spot on, with a touch of I guess .......The Clean Man.

Certainly seemed like a damn good guy!

With my deepest regrets, noah
