Close To Me
Close to Me

Time walks on

Friends tread on different paths

They focus on a future

Of warm winds and greener pastures

Choice takes them by the hand, whispers

"Move with spirited step

Toward a life rich with satisfaction"

Tears, hugs, and heartfelt assurances

That distance is conquerable

They grab smiles and suitcases

Hands fluttering, they wave goodbye

They do not look back

Time takes long strides

Dark gaps between greetings

Wide crevices of neglect

Separation feels like death

Dear friends, know this

Although silent, I am listening

My tongue is still but my mind is active

When I close my eyes

You are images beneath the lids

Warm lights in my darkness

Voices remembered

Hands I ache to hold

Time is galloping

Faster and faster still

But my heart knows a steady pace

You are always close to me

So good to see you back and posting! This surely describes what it's been like since we all went away from here! Love you, sis!

It's been a while my old dear friend.

glad to see you're still writing, and your talent hasn't diminished one bit.

Well done!

Beautiful Tribute and I appreciate Rich as well. Nothing else can compete for my time only the writers words.

Your words are lovely, caring, and timeless.

A wonderful tribute to all the writers and history here.

Moves me to tears, honestly.

So deserving to stay visible, above the water.

Much appreciated!
