As a boy, I looked above
and dreamt of those worlds beyond.
Those worlds so far, the risks so dear;
Adventures there for me to love.
That dream faded in reality;
But the heart’s desire remained.
Were there still places to explore?
To seek new worlds, All unrestrained.
At age 19 , my answer came.
The worlds I sought were not above.
In the Navy, o'erseas, on a boat,
The world I sought was... 5 feet below!
Since then I’ve logged two thousand hours.
I’ve "flown” throughout my world of blue.
I've been amazed by nature’s art,
Its stunning texture, variety and hue.
Strangely, this is a place of history,
Where clues are hid from sight.
Ancient worlds of eon’s mystery,
Or sunken vessels from war’s fight.
So much to learn, So much to see.
All within this world of blue.
Our lives depend upon it’s health
Explore it, Enjoy it, Preserve the sea.
