I'll no longer look into a thousand sunsets
And wonder whether or not you've seen them.
Nor will I ache at the mere sight of your pictures.
The songs that once stirred me have ceased to be anything but music.
You've become simply a ghost in the uninhabited house of my memory...
Once haunting; now but a fleeting shadow
Who struck the chords of harmony in me
But now hits nothing but off-key heart strings.
I don't hate you.
For hate would be an expression of emotion.
I feel nothing for you.
Freedom sometimes follows war.
And, though it lost, my heart fought it's best.
And now my soul is free.

Congratulations on the award. All though this is very melancholy, there is a certain liberation when you can finally say that they no longer get to you. Lovely expression.

In spite of the end, it retains a bittersweet feeling. Congratulations on another winner, Dori.
