Guarding Angel
I watched the blood
First trickle, then flood
Her face so cold
Watching the hand fold
Lifeless eyes impale the air
I was too late, without care
Her body doubled over
What was it that drove her?
Falling upon the floor
Blood pooled almost to the door
With impact it went off
Someone must have heard it
No one was home, a mad fit
Arguments leading to this
Started by throwing a dish
I should have known
The feelings she’d shown
I hear the door open
Fly to the stairs, him I’m hoping
A dozen blood red roses
Ironic I know this
Up the stairs he climbs
Each step my heart dies
Reaching the door
I want to shield his eyes
This will haunt him forever
Giving his heart again, never
She is now ashen
“Why God?” he’s askin’
Down on his knees
Saying “Wont you please?”
Nothing I could do
“It’s all my fault”, not true
On the bed lies a letter
Explaining every endeavor
AS he sat upon the floor
Tears began to pour
Then he read the last line;
‘After how you took the news about a lost job, I knew I couldn’t tell you….I’m pregnant’
I knew that she was carrying
And that she was scared
The day they buried her
He laid next to her grave and wept
While she eternally slept
He left 2 dozen blood red roses
And one pure white rose
For the life that never got a chance
He placed them upon the ground
Out of his pocket a paper he found
Laying it atop the flowers
‘I would never leave my own flesh and blood. You had nothing to fear, if only I knew. I’m sorry that it ended this way. Forever and always I’m yours and your mine. Never again will I love, for when you left so did my heart and soul. I have nothing to live for’
I followed him back to the house
He stood in the hallway
I knew what he was staring at
Then he turned to the painting of me
“What a great guarding angel you turned out to be”
He picked the gun up
2 shots again, upon this tragic night
One for the painting
One into his chest
Now together they rest

That was an extremely well written poem, kinda scarey but very good.
