I Know That I Must Never Tell.
Quietly laying there in the dark..
curled up upon my bed.
A single tear escapes my eye..
as todays events play back in my head.
I still can't seem to understand..
just what I did so wrong.
I tried to stop it..just say no..
but he was just too strong.
Another tear escapes my eye..
and I can still hear him say...
"If you'd just relax..this wouldn't hurt a bit..
'cause it's going to happen anyway".
Slowly my body starts to shake..
as my mind takes me through that hell.
And the bruises I now must try to hide..
remind me I must never tell.
I mustn't ever say a word..
no one must ever see...
no one must ever know about today..
and the things he did to me.
And as I close my eyes..I start to pray..
"Lord, give me the strength..please make me strong.
Help me to pretend that nothing happened..
so no one will suspect something is wrong".
And as I lay there in the dark..
I know that I must never tell.
Slowly my body starts to shake again..
as my mind takes me through that hell.
