~ ~ The other side of the rainbow ~ ~
The Other Side Of The Rainbow When the rain starts falling Sparkling in the sunlight Those wonderful colors are appearing The rainbow comes into sight And never youíre able to see both sides Not sure if there are even two But if you look closely you realize the one which hides Are you ready to? Take a look at your neighbors Whose perfect house you envy Full of money their purses Everything they want, they can buy But behind the curtain of perfection Lives a woman in fear Beaten and bruised in the mirror she sees her reflection No one would ever know the reason sheíd disappear Do you know the shy guy With glasses, the nose in the book Do you know him, do you wonder why The gun he took? Why he shot the kids at school His Teachers and then pointed the gun at his head Because you didnít hear them calling him a fool You didnít see the painful tears he shed Ever thought about This girl in your neighbour hood Beautiful, adoring and her head full of doubts Do you know why on the ground she always looks? Why she fears a manís presence She shivers and cries herself to sleep at night? Because someone stole her innocence A man changed her life one night Look at this guy in jail This face full of hate You donít care about the detail Why he freaked out, you donít care about his fate Who cares about someone who killed Do we care he was beaten by his drunken dad? A little kid begging for love, with tears his eyes were filled But all he got were hits, do we care thatís the reason why he got mad? Ever wondered why this girl, who was queen at prom night Once everyone wanted to be like her, have her life full of splendor Then lived out of sight? Because people insulted her when they found out she is in love with someone of her own gender Cuts of the razor blade covering her arms Because she wanted to bleed for her sins, for the feelings she had Didnít want to stand the peopleís harm Being gay is wrong she was told and into suicide it lead Now tell me are you ready to open your eyes To look closely and find out why Are you the sort of human who looks away and denies? Or do you give a try To understand whatís going on Do you have everyoneís opinion, just because they say so Ignoring the shadows and enjoying the side of life where is just sun? Are you willing to see the other side of the rainbow?
Author's Notes:
Came to my mind last night after an arguement. Every side has its own point of view and just if you add them you know what's really going on. I'd be happy about some feedback ;)

there is no such thing as being gay it is not who you are it is only what you are doing and although practicing homosexualty is  a sin  it can be forgiven  just like all other sins.   We as fellow humans are to hate the sin and love the sinner after all  who among us is not a sinner?

It is not up to us to  be mean to someone just because they are doing something we dont like or don't approve of.  Human compassion  may lead   a friend to rightous living. Every person deserves love and acceptance  (Let GOD do the judging ) I have had several friends who have made this choice  yeah they know  where I stand but they also know I love them despite thier shortcomings just like I hope they will like me  in spite of mine  which are probably no less than thier own  just different  we all have Our  so called demons in other words our own temptaions are we to imagine that our own sins are any harder to stop than that of our fellow human being  -

good  poem on a tough topic

You have landed on one of the major social sins. I am glad you know the rainbow has two sides, and tell it so wonderfully. You deserve two ribbons for this one, joia

Mind blowing to say the least, this is a reaction to the "twitching curtains
syndrome" answers, to the many, where theres smoke theres fire questions, very nicely done, with a well deserved award, thank you for sharing, take care. carlos

this is truly an awesome write Sydney, too many times we glance past the what is right in front of us, not wanting to take the time to see the other side. We all need to look at everything objectively and be open minded about it. I really liked this write. Good job.

It's necessary to consider the other side of any two sided argument/opinion. If you don't, how can you weigh it all out with understanding to find the where the strengths/truths of the argument are.
This is a compassionate poem, and I agree, one doesn't always know the other half of the story and should not pass judgements on others.

Congratulations on the blue ribbon awarded to you!

Hi Sydney!! This is such an INCREDIBLE write that I am in awe!!!! You have so firmly expressed a true problem with our society. Few people take the time, or even care, to try to understand!!!

Roses for m'lady, Sydney!!!
