Faithful Traveller
Young man why are you troubled so? The young man looks around he can see nobody but his shadow shining upon the floor he carrys on walking the pathway.
Again he hears a voice Young man why are you troubled so? Again he looks around and again nobody is there except for his shadow shining upon the floor. He looks back into the distance and hears only the whistling wind chasing the sands. The young man now tired from his travels Takes a rewarding rest upon the side of the path and quenches his thirst. Again he hears a voice young man why are you troubled so? Again he looks around but no one is there Looking towards the floor he notices two shining pebbles both of equal beauty. He picks them up and marvels at them for he has never seen such pebbles before. Then he places them snugly into his pocket. He then stands up and carrys on with his journey Now the pathway that he travels starts twisting and turning from curb to curb he's never traveled so far. Again he hears a voice Young man why are you troubled so? Again he looks around And see's only but his fading shadow and the whistling wind chasing the sands. He now stops in his tracks and rummages around for the two shining pebbles he placed in his pocket early they cannot be found. Again he hears a voice Young man why are you troubled so? He looks all around into the whistling winds and the chasing sands but still nobody is there. The young man Shouts at the winds and the fading shadows Why,why do you trouble me so? Again he hears a voice Young man why do you ask me so? for I am always with you on every step you go, The young man shouts at the winds why,why do you tell me so? are these all your pathways that i must travel so? Again he hears a voice Young man Why do you ask me so? did i tell you to take the pebbles on the road you travel so? The young man puzzled by this question replys no!! Again he hears a voice Young man if i was to cover your pathway with gold and diamonds would you travel it so? The young man replys yes!! Again he hears a voice Young man if i was to cover the other pathway with shining pebbles Would you travel it so?T he young man replys yes!! Again he hears a voice Young man Why are you troubled so?

Paul, is this the voice of God? I am wondering if this poem is asking the traveller if he is just as troubled whether rich or poor. I'm not sure I am understanding this one...so if you have a moment, could you help me out with it? Thanx!
