Beautiful Enigma (to Mary Lou Allen)
You are the ultimate scale
Upon which I measure my words.
"This one I know she'll like."
"She'll find this one completely absurd."

My enigmatic, Floridian friend,
Your ideas are so diverse.
My poems are like tiny little planets
Swimming in your universe.

And I'm in awe of the beauty
You have given to us so freely.
Given through your poems
Written thoughtfully and clearly.

They see through my stubborn mind
Giving voice to emotions locked up tight;
Expressing ideas I struggle with daily.
Ideas my heart will not allow me to write.

And in your comments I find the inspiration
To stretch myself a little more.
To reach beyond my limitations
To become what I am striving for.
Author's Notes:
Thank you for your beauty, your honesty, your talent, but most of all, your friendship.

Great poem Dori. You capture the essence of Mary Lou very well in this. I particularly like the last verse;not only is Mary Lou a great poet, she is also very good at encouraging others to their best, or better than what they thought their best could be. This is a tribute worthy of the woman herself.

Yes, I guess that just about sums up this woman of strength and beauty! She gives me inner visions which replay in my mind long after the computer screen is switched off. A rare gift from a strong woman.
A BEAUTIFUL POEM written by a wonderful poet Dori!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HAHAHA! Dear, sweet Dori. To say I'm overwhelmed doesn't get it. I'm stunned. My head reels and my heart is going bananas. Do you know you may have given me a stroke? This is wonderful. I love it. And I love you. Forget about those "tiny little planets" kid. It's OUR universe. I can hardly remember that five minutes ago I had the blues. Thank you, Dori. Thank you. And WOW! Thank you. ML
