Eyes of a Child
I walked around in a world too big
For one as small as I.
There was no wrong my eyes could see;
No reason for me to cry.

They said we were the young and weak,
But soon to be the strong;
That we could make it all okay,
What they had made so wrong.

We all had heros and special friends;
Some real and others not.
We all had a place to get away;
A secret hiding spot.

You were mine, my special friend,
My place to hide away.
I loved you till the day you left
And I love you still today.

If for one day I could have you back
For just a little while;
I think I'd be content for life
To see again through the eyes of a child.
Author's Notes:
To the child I was and to my imaginary friend (who was a unicorn).

this was such an adorable poem! I had imaginary friend too, her name was Pepper lol. I often try to think back on how childhood was, the world seemed so perfect then, untill you grow up.

This was fun to read, and very well put together. all the best hun

I love my childhood days, so much so, that I choose to look at movies and listen to music from those days.
This is a fine piece of nostalgia.
Fantastic Dori.

I loved the instantanious image that the line "Iwalked around in a world to big" brought about. That described the feelingMany Moons ago when I was young and also the days went on forever.

Why am I not surprised that young Dori would have a unicorn for a best friend? It's fitting. It doesn't even surprise me that she would remember that. This beautiful, Dori. I love it. ML
