I try to fill myself up by day,
But at night I'm always empty,
As cold as the space beside me,
And the mornings begin without hope
For someone to plug the holes.

Days pass through the sieve,
Slipping soundlessly through the gaps,
But sometimes memories catch:
The things I'd forgotten about you,
The times I overflowed with life,
That it didn't hurt to love you.

But the world turns without me,
So I close my eyes,

And it drains away.
