Colours After Dark
The moon sets on the witching hour
And I stare at this person in the mirror
As the colours bleed away again,
And I sink into emptiness wondering
Where the colour goes when I'm sad.
Seems like only yesterday things were bright,
But today I hug the empty hollow and cry,
Big black tears splashing salty sorrow,
And their darkness echoes how much I miss
Your brush painting me back to life,
But you need someone to colour you too
And I know it's something I can't do.
So I hug you to hold back the tears
That betray what I hide so deep inside.
