Final Day
Tell me Jesus
How you felt
In the garden
With your knees knelt.
What words
Did you say
To your Father
That final day?
Could you feel betrayal
In the kiss
On your cheek
From his lips?
Do You know we could not
Understand
The irony of a God
Being judged by a man?
Did You see Pilate's
Worried face
As the crowds freed Barabas
In Your place?
At the time
Did You know why
They were so eager
To crucify?
As they stripped You down
Did you feel
Your destiny
Becoming real?
As they weaved thorns
To be Your crown
How did You find strength
To not back down?
As they made you bare
That final load
Did You find comfort
That it had been foretold?
When You fell,
Your first time
Did the crowds realize
You bore their crime?
As Veronica wiped
Your blood and sweat
Did you ever imagine
Some would forget?
Because you endured
The pain of the nails
You became the criminal
The whole world hails
You were mocked
"King of the Jews"
Was it the destiny
You had to choose?
