Sonnet for the fading day
Oh perfect day don’t disappear so fast,
It was so good to have you here to see
Your wonderful sublime temerity,
And all your memories of fun to last
The days till I enter my cold repast.
Will you at least give one last thing to me;
A silent song sung of pure melody,
A beautiful sight as the night is cast.

And with this sunset a new dawn’s promise;
From the ashes of a day consumed
The phoenix will rise to rekindle bliss,
Life, love and wonderful things resumed,
As the sun sends down its newly born kiss
The world is once more in brightness bloomed.
Author's Notes:
ooh my first sonnet, petrarchan even, pentameter it may be (i hope) but the iambs do elude me methinks, heh :)
