Atlas
Oh creation! Tear this flesh away,
Grant this curse it's judgement day,
'Ere tomorrow it rise, and rot, and quake again
In loathsome pity and self-pain,
And weakness' sting in disguise seed-
As strength to crumble upon its need,
To cascade in ruin and cry: "Oh
Sun! Oh soul! Why do I ache so?"
And with hands that wish to rend and maim
All flesh born of this putrid body same,
That wish to cast off this terrible weight,
For finality had sounded "This is not my fate!"
Author's Notes:
In Greek mythology Atlas is cursed with the task of holding up the whole world on his shoulders.

Beautifully written.
I believe we could all relate to the tale of Atlas.
