My second Poem to Robert Frost
Robert Frost is sitting beside me here Since I have just put down his book Watching me with this grizzly sneer At least I think thatís how heíd look He wrote poems that I hold dear That I think about while I cook Then after diner I come sit here And think about the path he took The path I followed is not as clear I think itís time I found a flowing brook Then sit and read while heís still near†As I read aloud from his book His words will lead me to a dreamerís lane†A place inside me where Iíll feel his pain Allowing me to write my words of passion Even though today theyíre not in fashion Mr. Frost, If you please, be my guide As I work to find my poetic stride†This path Iím on is cold and bleak†Please read my poems, your help I seek†For I am traveling the writers unmarked path†Striving for insight to avoid some criticís wrath My poems seek wisdom from your eternal proof†That those of us who rhyme will find Godís truth.
Author's Notes:
This was the very first poem I ever wrote that I thought had any merit and made me hear the rhymes between the lines. I then went on to write a tribute to him.
