Windowed Gaze
She stands, watching, through the frostbitten window. The fog dissipates through the trees, hauntingly beautiful. She doesn't quite realize it, but the coffee tastes better now that she's found someone, once again. And so she sips, and feels the tension in her shoulders release. Forgetting again, she returns to bed, soaking in the comfort of a morning without him. The things she's done, places she's gone. Weekends she's spent with the few between, or this new found reality. A place where she feels finally safe, secure, in control. A place she knows she is meant for. And she's better off never knowing him again. And she drifts into a light peaceful sleep.
