Patchwork Heart
Patchwork Heart

When I was a young man
I met a pretty girl
With flowers in her hair
And around her neck a pearl.

I caught her by the hand
And feign asked her why
A lovely girl like her
Could ever wish to die.

Oh so she took my hand
And squeezed it tight
As she asked me then
If I could last the night.

So I stayed the night
And another day as well
With this lovely girl,
Forgetting what she did tell.

Oh I was in love then,
Filled with a mighty bliss,
Dreaming of only one thing:
Her next wonderful kiss.

Till one day she said,
"This cannot go on,
You are not the one
To quieten my sad song."

So I left her on that day,
But I had to look back,
See her standing there,
Feeling my heart crack.

But like all the others
I stole a tiny part
Of her beautiful soul,
A part to patch my heart.
Author's Notes:
uh this is sort of a neo-ballad, enjoy :)
