Angel of Night, Angel of Doom
Away! Away sunshine and smiles!
Happiness and joy my soul defiles,
Melancholy is my only true friend;
My messiah whom I hold till the end.

Gouge out my eyes, tear out this sight,
All that I crave is the darkness of night,
And the world dies in a single sunrise;
It is the light inside that I despise.

And I'd love you, love you to death,
If you'd steal from me this last breath;
Drive a dagger straight into my heart,
And kiss these lips 'fore I depart.

Oh angel of night, angel of doom,
Prepare for me a succulent tomb,
The moon rises and my blood is burning,
With one silent slash end this yearning.
Author's Notes:
This is where I say something profound and you all go 'ahh!' and then I say "I had rather a lot of red wine, which kind of looks like blood if you're morbid enough."

'Melancholy is my only true friend;
My messiah whom I hold till the end' great line..and let me be the first to say 'ahhh' and anything looks morbid if you feel morbidity creep in, splendid write about the more daunting part of the psyche...Ann
