Give Me A Minute
Give me a minute to break down in tears,
Let my eyes overflow with worries and fears,
I am not sure if I can take any more,
Iím not a brave girl as you take me for.

Give me a minute for I am tired,
I am weary, I am sad, Iíd go mad,
Behind the bright smile and happy face,
Iím scared to face lifeís dark maze.

Give me a minute lest I will stumble,
Iím losing my grip, my hands doth fumble,
Everyday, to hide the truthÖ a mask I wear,
Truth is Iím scared, confused and in despair.

Give me a minute to sort things out,
A lot of bad thoughts run in and out,
I want to go Home where I can find my rest,
For Peace my heart yearns, for Joy my soul thirst.

Give me a minute to say my prayer,
Let me kneel down and find my shelter,
For to God I lay my heavy burden,
In Him I restÖ I found my haven.

Dear Becca, Wish I knew then just how you had felt,
As the heavens gave way and the rains began to pelt.
But only months later, am I now chance to this poem,
When the skies are no longer cast, and our friendship has blossomed,
Into the love that we had been hoping for in the beginning;
For now our love is as fine as your spinning,
Of this web of words born out of perfect despair,
Why must great pieces come from burdens too hard to bear?
Strive on dear Becca, I'm now by your side,
Hearts fail us not, pray our love ever abide.

Love, Matt
