Upon a star...
And you know he's gone,
But you'll take a deep sigh,
Pretend that there's a reason,
And just stare into the sky,

Hold your candle up high,
And try to signal his star,
Remember that last smile,
And tear open this fresh scar.

The world has forsaken us all;
Suddenly so lonely and cold,
And you're reaching for stars
With pain and longing untold.

But you'll sigh, and cry again,
Holding tight this lucky penny,
Screaming out that the night
Has one star too many.

Hey Cutie... lol, I just thought I would throw that in to push your buttons. LOL, anyways, this poem is so beautiful. And so true. I believe that the stars are souls that are sent their to watch apon us. That's why the night sky is so beautiful and soothing.

Very nice write Jess.
