It Hurts To Be Short
It really does hurt, it really is tough

People just don't realize how much

They just don't think about what they say

They think it's funny and so you try to laugh along

But it gets so old after so long

No matter how hard you try not to let it get to you

Every word just hurts so very badly

I know it's something I've got to live with

I just don't understand why they have to be so mean

It's as if because I'm the way I am I'm worthless

Now almost all of them are above me

They find measuring against me funny

Why don't you try taking my place for a day

And see how long you can keep all the pain at bay

Here's the truth, I don't find it funny, not at all

I hate it when you tease me because I'm not tall

God made me this way and I can't help it

So please think because I have feelings too

I've never heard anyone tease a midget

Why should I be any different?

Just put yourself in my shoes for a bit

And see if you like how well they fit

It really doesn't help when you try to make me feel better either

It's just a reminder of what I like to forget

So just go away, I already know what you think

I don't need you to tell me again

I just want someone to accept me the way I am

Someone that sees it doesn't change my worth as a person

I like this write. I am not really short, but I definitely am not tall either. Someone told me not long ago that a person is tall enough if both feet reach the floor. I like that saying--maybe you will too.

This is really hurtful. People shouldn't be so cruel. I'm short. I'm like 5'2 and it stinks. Tell them all to go to hell and see how they like being told off. Nobdy should be made fun of, because of their height. It's not what's on the outside that counts, it's what's on the inside that matters. You show 'em. Keep your head held high and walk the other way. You'll always be BIGGER than they are. *S* Cynthia
