We stand facing each other tense and weapons drawn.

You slash your words like a sword and cut me deep.

Bleeding pride as it runs down to the floor.

I turn and shoot my accusations at you, a bullet of hurt pierces your soul.

A look of shock follows as if unable to comprehend what I just said.

Minds ravaged from a harsh war we are having, two armies advancing on each other.

Destroying every thing they had once worked for and believed in.

We are both hurting and yet the emotional bombshells keep landing closer and closer each one leaves my head ringing as hurtful verbal shrapnel sinks deep into my mind.

I stop and say, ďIím sorryĒ I donít want to fight no more, you look at me with surprise.

As if thatís the answer you was looking for.

We clear up all the mess that we created in this hall, then we hold each otherís hands and make our way home from school.

Lying in my bedroom our wounds are on display, we kiss and then we heal them.

Wars over for today.

A fight here or there is healthy for the soul. But like Melissa said, just don't let it esculate to far that there is no turning back. Words leave scars just as much as physical blows. Great write!
